Your guide, Alan Clark, has a vast experience of researching and locating the historic crash sites scattered across the high ground of the British Isles, having visited over 550 such sites beginning more than 20 years ago with the crash sites in the hills of the Peak District. He is a qualified Mountain Leader; professional member of the Mountain Training Association; Outdoor First Aider as well as a Mountain Rescue Casualty Carer with one of the teams in the Peak District National Park.
In addition to visiting a multitude of crash sites Alan also co-authored the book, “Aircraft Wrecks: The Walker’s Guide”, the book details over 500 sites in the UK and Ireland as well as maintaining the research led Peak District Air Accident Research website on which you can find the historical backgrounds of all of the crash sites you are likely to visit on a walk.
